Call for proposals
Starting in 2022, the SWESEM Board has decided to establish three scholarships that are open to members of the association. Each scholarship amounts to SEK 15,000 and is intended to serve as a contribution to research or continuing education. The scholarships cannot be used to pay salaries.
The breakdown for the 2026 scholarships is as follows:
- A scholarship for specialist doctors for either training/training or research activities.
- A scholarship for residents for either training/outreach or research activity.
- A research grant for participation in a scientific conference. This scholarship can be applied for by both residents and specialists.
Scholarships 1 and 2 can be used for e.g. conference visits or courses and their content must be reported to the clinic/colleagues afterwards in the form of a lecture or training session.
For the research grant used for participation in a scientific conference, it is a requirement to participate in the conference with an own scientific contribution.
In order to be eligible for a grant, your activity to which the grant relates must not have been carried out prior to Akutveckan. You cannot apply for projects that have already been completed.
An application of no more than 500 words is submitted to the SWESEM Board via the form below by February 22, 2026, and the scholarship winners will be announced in conjunction with the Akdevan conference dinner on March 12.
Instructions for the application
The application must contain the following information:
- Current employment (employer, type of position, i.e. resident, specialist, etc.)
- Check that you are a SWESEM member
- A brief description of how the grant will be used (when? where? for what?). If participation in a conference is planned, a link to the conference website should be included.
- Brief budget indicating the total cost of the activity, as well as the parts for which the grant will be used.
Reporting
Scholarship holders must submit a short written report of no more than 500 words before the next Akutveckan , explaining how the scholarship has been used to aakutveckanan@swesem.org. This report may be published on the SWESEM website.
